OMG, it’s FRIDAY!
Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!

Spoons Cafe Loves to Dessert You
Yeah, I said it. I am feelin’ kinda punny today. You should be used to my weird sense of humor by now.
Anywho, the fabulous Spoons Cafe asked me to photograph their desserts for a new menu and some promotional material. As if they needed to promote anything since they are totally packed 24/7, but who would pass up photographing such glorious treats?!
Feast your eyes on this. If you weren’t already in need of an afternoon snack, you will be now. Hope you don’t get sugar shocked right through your computer!
Singles bar!

I bet you wish your pie charts looked a little more like this, huh?

The Spoons mascot says, “I’m dying over here. Will somebody get me a cupcake, already?!”

Guess whose naughty little fingers these are?

If I could choose one image from this whole shoot, it might be this one.

I gotcha now, cupcake! You’re all mine! Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

My other favorites! (Well, two of them, anyway.)

Those chubby hands just kill me. Anyone notice her stamp from school? I thought it added to the flavor of the image.

Who needs the Butcher and Candlestick Maker when you’ve got Kara, the best baker in the metroplex?!

Thanks Kara, Karen, Maureen, & Kathy, & Toni for making the treats, holding pies, moving chairs,
switching out this and that and then some, and generally letting me boss you around for an hour. It was loads of fun!!!
Ok, we already know that the human subject is your “absolute best work” and even a masterpiece (I helped, too), BUT the rest of it is friggin LEGEN…wait for it…hope you’re not lactose intolerant…b/c it’s gonna be…DARY!!!!
I need that cupcake, that cupcake needs me. I know I am happily married but I wanna go on match.com, find that cupcake (after we chat online for a few months and meet in a safe place), make one of those cheesey commercials that plays music from Love Actually in the background, and we’ll go live in this cute little bakery in the country and make a baker’s dozen!
Mills and Kate…..those are my girls! Yummy cupcakes….Precious girls! Go Spoons!
Sweet Millie, those sweets can’t top you! You are the sweetest cutest model. Love to you, Auntie Gab
ok. so… that must’ve been torture for you to photograph that while the wee one was present!
my kid would’ve thrown a MASSIVE fit.
ok. soooo don’t laugh but my next scheduled date to come to D/FW area is in october for the New Kids on the Block concert. and i will need to go to Spoons … and IKEA. you in ?!
Chriselda~~~Actually, Millie didn’t touch anything until we told her she could. She was the perfect angel and blew my mind. Needless to say, she got to pick out a treat, and hers was the pink cupcake! To match her dress, of course!!!
Small Town Texas :: Jesse’s Junk
Just past the water treatment facilities of Brenham, TX lies a place that everyone passes by. Anyone who has heard the urban legends about Jesse just doesn’t seem to have the cajones to stop at Jesse’s Junk (no pun intended…ew, get your mind out of the gutter).
Regardless (or irregardless, for those Mean Girls fans) of which psychological disorder you think Mr. Jesse currently is experiencing, you have to admit that this place is intriguing. No, not just intriguing…HOLY CRAZINESS FREAKING INTRIGUING!
On my way back to McKinney from Brenham (last Saturday), I did manage to get enough courage to park my car on the side of the road, creep up for just 2 minutes, and take a couple (or ten-ish) snaps. Here’s what I found.

I love you stopped…do you remember how everyone at TCU was scared to death of Agnus and we walked over there and took her a PB&J sandwich and Hi C. She LUVED me b/c she thought my name was HOLY. lol…
That’s creepy! Is it wrong that I love it???
Jesse’s junk reminds me of Katrina shrines in NO. Ya gotta love self expression.
i spy…
stop stalking my house already!! ![]()
just kidding…i think that is my cabbage patch doll from 1980!
So, are you going to tell us the urban legends????
Merry Monday!
Wow. Whew. I am reeling off of a wonderful weekend, and I am going to have TONS to blog over the next couple of weeks. I am a bit in over my head, so if I take more than 24 hours to get back with you, just breathe, and know that I have contacting you on my to-do list. =)

Courtney + Collin :: Engaged!
AND, Mindy + Christopher’s wedding is this weekend! I am stoked to have so much to show you!
Have a super day. Hugs!
So, when do you plan to sleep? We saw you absolutely everywhere in Firemen’s Park Friday night; you must have a few thousand shots to sort. BTW, thank you for the trip to the zoo with Millie–very, very special.
It’s that busy time of the year. Kate, if your every in want of a second shooter for a wedding, just let me know, I love the practice. T-Ball season is over and I work weddings on the cheap, as in free. Can’t wait to see the upcoming posts.
Tara + Clay :: Engaged!
She’s a sweet teacher, affectionately known as an “Ellie Mae” (animal lover supreme). He’s a sound engineer at the House of Blues and a guitarist for Dixie Witch to boot. How do they work, you ask? They are each juxtaposed with a dash of sweetness and a sprinkle of rock and roll.
I adore Tara and Clay, and had so much fun hanging out with them last Sunday! We three come from the same planet, and I absolutely cannot wait to shoot their wedding next month. I am literally squealing with excitement as I am typing!!!
A stolen moment on a staircase…I really want to get a humongous canvas of this one. Yum.

They’re in love. Ya dig?

Holy hotness!

How sweet, right?

Wild enough to shoot at…

…and make out in public. I LOVE this set!

Never a dull moment on a Juxtapose shoot.

Gorgeousness.

Yeah…this needs to be a big ol’ canvas also. Ginormous.

We are ALL closet Journey fans. Don’t stop believin’, blog readers. I love ya!

Tara and Clay—you guys are the greatest things since sliced bread. Thanks for trusting me and for being so damn cool.

Disengaged
Before Tara and Clay’s engagement session last Sunday, I wandered around and snapped a few shots. I am easily amused and easily inspired, I suppose. Life is so much more fun when you can take delight in the fabulous little things that are hidden behind every corner.

i like looking at these. really interesting compositions miss kate.

Hope your week is off to a great start!
geez…you’ve been busy and i’ve been missing your blog…
have a great week.
Little Ballerina Girl
Mills and her little school chum, Samantha (aka “Sammy”) have decided that they want to be ballerinas. Sammy’s mom and I signed them up for a 6 week summer session to see if it sticks. We shall see about that, but the outfit—it is TO DIE FOR!!! I think I love it almost as much as Millie does. And yes, we have already had temper tantrums regarding taking the outfit off. Homegirl would take her bath in her leotard and tights if we let her.

OOOOHHHHHHH…..I remember when I signed Hannah up for her first ballet class when she was three. I have kept her shoes and leotard and skirt just to remember when she was the little….unfortunately it didn’t stick…..but I sure loved watching those classes…HAVE FUN!!!
Oh she is too PRECIOUS!!! Can I borrow her some day just to see what its like to have a little girl???? Hope she has fun at ballet!
hey i just wanted to let you know (because i dont think i ever have) that your drop-down menus at the top are not fully visible when “dropping down”…. it hides behind your content area (where your posts are).
i love the classic look of this. beautiful!!
Precious! I wouldn’t want to take that outfit off either!
I love the cupcake picture! Way to go Mills! Wish I had tht kind of self control around sweets.
