Trike Lady

Bess is Thirteen!
Oh, darling Bess…she is officially a teenager! She was much more kid-like at last year’s birthday session, but now…look out. She is on the verge of being a woman! Bess has her own way of doing things, and I admire her spirit so. She is just a vibrant, vivacious little thing who is so beautifully comfortable in her own skin.
Speaking of skin, I am so jealous. Check out her porcelain doll face. Doesn’t it make you want to run out to the beauty counter at Nordstrom and get some new products? Yeah, me too!

Tom is Sixteen!
Tom has grown up a ton in a year. Since his last birthday photo shoot, he has gotten taller and gained a new appendage: his brand new truck!
We had a blast hanging out together on his family’s ranch…dodging cow poo, climbing the banks near his creek, and driving around his the Silverado. His parents will be happy to know that we wore our seat belts!
Tom is still the same full meal deal, and is only getting better with age. He is such a classy guy, and I am absolutely honored to know this super cool sixteen year old.
Oh my! Can you just see his buddies talking about how they saw Tom riding around in his truck with some stylin chick. I’m sure you both had a blast! The pictures are fantastic!

I Can’t Get It Out of My Head {The Kooks :: Naive}
No, it’s not new. It has been around for a couple of years. However, I fell in love all over again when it graced my car speakers yesterday afternoon. Sunroof open, hair flying, singing at the top of my lungs while simultaneously head-bopping…good times.
It brought me back to a place I had forgotten about…23 years old. Live music junkie still trying to find herself. Careless, free, hippie chick who took the time to let the music pump through her veins till she had to jump up and down.

I’m in the Weeds!
When I was a waitress in college, we would use that phrase when we had to wait on 27 different tables at the same time, all with patrons who changed their order at the last second, yelled and screamed, substituted all of their side orders, and called out “Kate” every half minute. “In the weeds” is a period of stress, but when it’s over, you feel oh so productive.
I am in the weeds right now, and I have loads to blog. Once I find my way out, I will be showing some fun stuff:

I STILL use this phrase and I haven’t waited tables in 8 years. It is the perfect way to holler for help!!!! Hang in there….we will all be patient while you get yourself outta the weeds!

3rd Graders Review My Recent Work
Got this email yesterday from my most recent bride, Karey, who is an elementary school teacher.
“I showed the kids some of the pictures from the slideshow ….a couple of funny comments I heard…
‘you look better in color’
‘that doesn’t look like you at all’
‘did someone tap the glass and did he make the move’ (’tap the glass’ = toast & ‘make the move’ = kiss)
Someone asked if there was a limit on how many bridesmaids or groomsmen you could have - they wanted 10!
‘did you have to kiss to get married ‘
They all think I’m already pregnant!!! I’ve said time and time again….check back when you are in like 5th or 6th grade and maybe then I will have started thinking of having a baby.
Someone said that now I was a Parent because I got married….and someone else corrected him and said…No, now she’s an Adult. :o)”
Gotta love kids!
So stinkin’ cute…they have no sensors (you look better in color). I love that!

Karey + Kris :: Hitched
Needless to say, I love this couple. Karey booked me well over a year ago and it has been so fun getting to know her and Kris. They were so trusting of me and welcomed me with open arms on their big day. Because of their trust in me and my respect and admiration for them, I think we came away from the event with some fun images that really represent their love and relationship.
Thanks to the fabulous bridesmaids, the mothers of the bride and groom, and to Karey’s darling grandparents for treating me like a member of the family. It was an honor to photograph you all!
