Millie’s First Visit to Joe’s Ranch
Thought I would share with you my pictures from Millie’s adventures at my brother’s ranch. You might remember my previous coverage of a day in the life of Joe. Millie loved getting HER turn at checking it all out, and I was so glad I was around to see it and capture it.

awww….! She is so beautiful! Please tell her to stop growing though! She’s getting so big!
Lindsey..”might be a little emotinal today”. hehe. You will feel better after some Ms. Spears tonight. I love these pictures too. I think one of those chickens could eat Noopsie.
Kate…this post is fab-u-lous!!! Yes, Holly and Lindsey, I DID tear up!!! I love my children, grandchildren, and of course,,,my son-in-law, Roberto, too! (AND Noopsy!) This is life in the fullest! Thanks, Kate, for a wonderful capture!!!
Incredibly beautiful–on so many different levels. Thank you.
This beautiful lil girl needs some RANCH BOOTS!!! Ask Susie M….she knows!

This is hysterical!
Bess is 14!
Tom’s little sister (well, one of them) is just blossoming before my very eyes. In just one year, she has become such a lady and to be honest, it is super fun that we can finally be on somewhat of the same level. Not that I don’t connect with kids, but there is something to be said about “girl talk” like discussions about antiques and Anthropologie…our favorite.
Here she is—Miss Bess…almost in high school and oh-so-faboosh!
Bess is a self-professed scarf junkie.

Bess is such a pretty young lady! Where is this fabulous store btw?? Can I move in? ![]()
Tom is 17!
I can’t believe that Tom is seriously 17. One year older than last year. What a fine young man he is turning out to be. It is pretty much blowing my mind that we actually had a conversation about college applications. Time flies when you’re having fun, I suppose. It really seems like just yesterday that we had our first session! Two years later…
This is the bus that Tom and the Brenham Cub football team take for out of town games.
It’s basically one of his homes away from home.

Such a cutie, right?

Thanks for another fantabulous session, Tom, and I hope the rest of your spring ROCKS! Hugs!
Elaine :: Unbridaled
Somehow, Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway morphed and turned into one of my clients. Crazy, right? True story. Just look below.
Really, her name is Elaine, and she and her sweet fiance, Adam, are getting hitched this summer in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. On the beach. I can’t wait!!! We had so much fun frolicking around Dallas last Thursday, and I am super proud of the images that came from our adventure. I am especially proud knowing that I tripped on trolley tracks on McKinney Avenue in Uptown Dallas, bloodied my knees, and cracked one of my favorite ($$$) lenses BEFORE I EVEN TOOK A SINGLE PICTURE. I guess that line that I always told my parents to get them off my back when I was up against a paper/test/project deadline was true…I really do work better under pressure! I’m actually NOT full of b.s.!
Insanely gorgeous!

So cute. He was slightly confused about what we were doing, but he loved her anyway.

Favorite!

Another favorite!

If she gets any more adorable, I might freak out.

Isn’t that light delish?

Gotta love street vendors.

Elaine is precious!

And, she’s done.

Can’t wait till your engagements in a couple of months, Elaine! Thanks for being a trooper!
Fun sesh, girlfriend!
Awesome!! I wish I could convince someone to do that kind of session!! fun times!
It is INSANELY weird how much she looks like both Angelina and Anne. Beautiful pictures!
Elaine is a good friend of mine and SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!!! You did an amazing job on her pics. I will have to keep you in mind!
Kate these are all great! 4 is my fav.
I love them!! Kate, you are such an ARTIST! You really captured me well. All the things you said would turn out well, you were so right! It was an adventure and I still can’t get that image of you falling out of my mind. You just jumped right up dusted yourself off and got back in the zone! Amazing!
I love you for what you did with me in these pictures. I can’t wait till our next adventure! No more falling please.
Love, Elaine Jolie-Hathaway ![]()
You trooper! It could have been worse, think if a trolley was coming!
Amazing photos!
Killer Kate! #4 is my favorite as well. Love the ‘juxtaposition’ of the gorgeous bride and people on the trolley. Very nice.
great work Kate. I absolutely love the spiral staircase image.
Great job, Kate!
don’t ya just love taking pictures? we have the best job EVER!
love the pics. my absolute fave is the one where she’s sitting between all the people ![]()
great job Kate
LOVE the last 6 pictures!!!!!!
they are super~duper~great!!!!!
You are beautiful, and you look way prettier than Jolie, with eyes like Hathaway! They are very artistic and pretty “Kool” on the Trolley! Can’t wait for more pics. Love you babe!
Yes, she’s beautiful — but I’m kinda prejudiced. And I can promise you, on the inside, she’s even more beautiful than she appears in these pictures! Her whole family is so proud of her!
At first I was upset when I saw that your wedding was gonna be in NC, but then I remembered you’re marrying a yankee bastard so you had to meet half way and just piss everyone off. Seems fair, wish I could be there though
Absolutely beautiful !! You picked a great photographer too !
and Adam, I didn’t mean anything personal by the yankee bastard comment, I love you man!
Wow…what a beautiful glimpse into your world Elaine.
My favorite is the dandelion picture.
I am very happy for you and feel very blessed to have you in my family.
Love,
Uncle Sam
These pictures are amazing. They are unlike any bridal portraits I have ever seen. She did a great job!
The shot on the bus with the other passengers…Kate, you see “it” !!! Wonderful!
You got a really good eye for the moment, Kate. Good work. Elaine looks stunning. some of the pics look like” late 60,s fashion model” Elaine is beautiful. I might be biased being her bio-dad and all but she didn’t get those genes from me. Hi Yolanda.
Kate, Amazing! I’m so glad you’re able to do one of my good Middle School Friends pics! You two did a great job capturing her! Hope your knee gets to feeling better. LOL!
The first picture and the one where she is behind the old door are my favs! You did a good job and Elaine is super cute and beautiful as always! I know her from school and she is going to be a beautiful bride!
[…] beautiful bride whose session was so unbridaled that I busted my knees and broke a lens on some trolley tracks…that would be Elaine. My […]
Carlie + Tom :: Engaged!
These crazy kids are getting hitched this weekend in Fredericksburg (starting off with a bang of a rehearsal dinner in Luckenbach, Texas). Since Tom has been in Iraq until now, we barely managed to pull off a mini-shoot last weekend. I am so glad that we did, because we had such a blast traipsing all over South Congress Avenue in Austin, making sure that we were good and bonded before their big day.
Can you feel the love? Favorite!

They take my breath away.

Sssssss-smokin’!

Another favorite!

And another favorite!

I can’t wait to see you make it official this weekend! Luckenbach and Fredericksburg, here we come!

I’m Thankful for Thank-Yous
Wow. I am sitting here, speechless (for once), after reading the most eloquent and heartfelt thank you note from Wesley.
Her words basically made my year.
“Dear Kate,
First I would like to let you know that I think you are the most talented and wonderful photographer a bride and groom could have. You are a dream! From the moment Matt and I met you for our engagement session to our wedding day, we were in love! You have a sense of humor, are totally fashionable, and have an eye for all things fabulous.
I can’t thank you enough for EVERYTHING you have done for us. Coming to Austin for the engagement session, my abnormally cold unbridaled session, and for our wedding meant the world to us! Not only that, you gave us the key to all of our memories by sending us the cds with all of our pictures on it. Seriously girl, you have outdone yourself. You’ve captured every moment that we will forever remember and you did it so beautifully.
Kate, you really placed me at ease every step of the way and anyone that hires you will understand when they meet you. You create the most amazing art when you are behind the camera. You are so wonderful and I am so excited that I found a new friend through my wedding process. Please continue to create your magical pictures and I hope that in the next few years we will have another exciting event for you to capture. Matt and I think you are amazing and again, thank you for the most incredible memories EVER!
Love,
Wesley”

No, Wesley.
Thank YOU and MATT, for having a love that is so palpable that it inspires everyone around you.
Your hearts are on fi-yah! Muah!
Harper is a Newborn!
Harper’s mommy and daddy, Crystalyn and Robin, are very hip parents. They are also very into photography, which made hiring me a supreme compliment. But, whoa. The pressure! I hope they love what I came up with. Their little family is delightful, and I had so much fun photographing them, as well as their super cool home. Can’t wait to watch Miss Harper grow!
The smile on Robin’s face just gets me every time I see this image. Precious love!

So hip. So hip it hurts.

What a rockin’ little lady!

Love this capture!

This mirror was made by Crystalyn’s grandmother, and is just amazing in person.

Speaking of grandmothers, Harper’s grandmother made this blanket for her!

You guys are just adorable, and so cool to hang with…can’t wait to see you at the six month session! Hugs!
Kate - thank you! We really enjoyed meeting you and love the photos — you captured some great moments! We love your style and eye — thanks for fitting us in! We look forward to Harper’s six-month shoot.
oh my gosh…….kate these are awesome!!!!!!
love the one that she is on the album covers!!!!!!
way cool!!!!!
It’s so nice to see Robin’s face on the other side of the camera for once! Harper looks beautiful.
Wow Kate these are so great!!! I’m so glad we found you and you were able to work us in.
I LOVE the albums picture as well!!! I haven’t met this fun family but I feel like I know them already through Megan and Chuy…they introduced me their blog. Such a creative family! And Harper is adorable!
You beautifully captured the amazing Roberts family! I agree with Greg, it is great to see Robin on the other side of the camera. Can hardly wait to see more of your photo session from the Orange House.
Best,
Harper’s other grandmother Bonnie
Every shot is memorable, can’t wait to see more of your ability to capture this beautiful family.
Harper’s other grandmother, Bonnie
Genius! The album covers pic is out of this world. You are too good, Kate!
Caroline is 6 Months Old!
Geez, Louise. Time flies! It seems like I was photographing newborn Caroline last week. Now she’s six months old! She is getting more and more beautiful as she grows, it seems. She might want to slow it down a little bit or her daddy, Chris, might have a hard time keepin’ the boys at bay. Check out little Caroline and her big baby blues.
Her little looks just slay me.

Favorite!

Are they the cutest or are they the cutest?

Ashley just had to try the bonnet on Caroline, and Caroline managed to keep it on for more than one minute!

Keep doing your push-ups, little C, so you can fight the boys off!

Can’t wait to see you three again, Ash, Chris, and Caroline! Big hugs!
Wow, Kate! You really now how to make us shine! I love, love, love all of these and can’t even wait to see the rest! My favorite is the one where Caroline is reading her Goodnight Moon book! Darling! I love them all!
My mom already has absolute favorites, but like me loves them all! She love numbers 2, 7 and 8! Thank you again!
OMIGOSH! What a treat, Kate. Number 5 may be my first choice, but all the rest are right on the heels of that one. These are beautiful. Miss Caroline is mighty fine.
Kate, you are so talented. Love them all, But #2 is my fav. besides all three of them.I have seen her suck those fingers and look just like that.Love them, so much.Shirley Miller
Oh she’s absolutely precious!!! I think your favorite is my favorite too ![]()
That face is absolutely adorable! I could look at it all day long and smile. She is too precious, and you captured this little angel perfectly!
Kelli + Steven :: Hitched!
Can I tell you how much I adore Kelli + Steven?
<—————THIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSS MUCH—————> times infinity.
They are absolutely giddy for each other, and it is super duper infectious. Or affectionate. Just ask Kelli’s sister, Lindsay. Gotta love the inside jokes, right? Sorry, I should exclude those who have no earthly clue what I am talking about…moving on!
I had so much fun getting to know this couple and their wonderfully warm and fuzzy friends and fam. By the time I left their reception, I truly felt like one of them. Don’t you just LOVE people that take you in like that? I have to say that it is a characteristic that inspires me to do my best work. (So, bring on the warm and fuzzy, peeps!)
Steven’s best man, Matt, helps a bruthah out.

Sieg is the groomsman who is the grand master of the cufflinks.

Kel’s mom, Sharon, is a doll. Her relationship with her daughters is truly what I hope for with Mills.

Kelli opens a present from Steven. Fan the tears! Don’t ruin the makeup!

Dabba dabba.

Giddy toes.

Kel wanted to be placed back-to-back with Steven, so we arranged a meeting.
Their rooms were right next door to each other, so it was uber convenient.

A sash, some flowers, and Jesus. It’s all a girl really needs on her wedding day.

Oh, stunning!

Work it, lady! I love this “in-between moment”.

A little dab will do ya.

Kelli and her rockin’ dad, Archie, prepare for the walk.

The First Christian Church of Plano has some of the most extraordinary stained glass I have ever seen.

Can’t put my finger on it, but for some reason I am in love with this image.

Squeal! Eeeeeeeee! We did it!

Cast and crew. The playahs. I LOVED this group!

The reception was bee-yoo-ti-ful. Bridal Blooms and Creations and the Grand Hotel did a marvelous job!

First dance…

This guy rocked everyone’s socks off. Don’t know his name, but he rules.

Blue Man Group, who?

Lose your keys, there, Steven? Favorite!

Mom got this hilarious shot of the guys during the garter toss. Are you dying laughing???!!!

K + S wanted to have a last dance alone in the ballroom (well, alone with me).
The honeymoon begins!

Playa del Carmen, here they come! Woo-hoo!

Much love to you, Kel and Steven! See you soon, I hope!
you are a true story teller. love it.
They are such a cute couple! Ironic, I used to go that church alot when I was younger with a friend of mine. I do remember the pretty stained glass!!
Kate!! Great photos as always!!!
Kelli!!!!! OMG!! You looked so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!! You did it!!!!!!!!! ![]()

I’m so happy for the two of you. Your wedding was beautiful, but you know that! Take care of eachother!! Congrats
Oh, Kate, the pictures are beautiful! You have amazing talent and did fabulous work capturing the beautiful couple. Everyone’s personalities shine! I can hardly wait to see the rest!! It was a pleasure meeting you; thanks for making taking photos in the cold so fun! P.S. Your daughter is absolutely precious!!
Bea-U-ti-FULL!!! What a beautiful couple, beautifully captured by you Kate. And the BW shot of Kel opening Steven’s gift is an award-winner for sure! Yeah you!
Kate! You did it again and managed not only to capture “us”, but all the magic that was our wedding day. You are dy-no-mite behind the lense and it shows! The pictures are gorgeous, we could not have asked for more. You are an absolute GEM of a lady and photographer, we feel so lucky to have met you!! We would love to meet up for lunch/dinner and drinks, let me know when you have some free time!
Okay, so I might be a little emotional today because those were so special they kind of made me tear up! Great pics!
