Carissa + Luke :: Hitched
The super human (I mean seriously…looks AND brains? Not fair.) Carissa + Luke made it official a couple of weeks ago, and once again, I was reminded why I love my job so much. Clients who have an interest in emotion and sentiment and substance over material inspire me to no end, and this couple was that times ten. Their super human love for each other radiates, and everyone who is near them can’t help but be kind and compassionate as well.
Thank you so much to the Gonzalez and Uribarri families and all of Carissa + Luke’s friends who made Mom and me feel so at home. What a night filled with true joy for everyone involved.
Enter here…
The gorgeous Carissa gets even gorgeouser.

Luke gave Carissa this jewelry a while back and she decided to surprise him by pairing it with her wedding dress.

Work it, sister.

Held at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, their ceremony was a stunner.

Daddy’s girl!

Hurry! The flower girl forgot her basket! Run!

The giveaway involved Zoe, the train bearer/maid of honor due to the rain-drenched ground.

What a glorious moment!

I loved this as soon I snapped it.
The wind blew as Luke’s dad was reading his part of the ceremony, and Carissa closed her eyes and soaked in the moment.

Lauren, the flower girl was to die for. Her looks continue to barrel me over.

We did it, we did it! Eeee! (Can you hear them through the screen?)

Party on, party people, lemme hear some noise.

After the ceremony, Carissa + Luke hopped in the back of my car and Mom and I took them to the Fort Worth Stockyards for a little fun. Carissa even brought her fab boots she wore during their engagement session, much to my delight!
Just a little FYI, we LOVE LOVE LOVE it when couples allow enough time for portraits between the ceremony and the reception.
It seriously rocks our world, and I am pretty sure the clients that do it like it, too.

Love shack, baby, love shack!

What stunners!

Are you dying yet?

Oh, they are so precious!

How ’bout now? Officially slayed? Yep. Thought so.

Ready for the party, we headed back to the Botanic Garden for their reception.

This, folks, is true bubble-blowing talent.

Guess this little guy didn’t like the rendition of “At Last”.

This is hardcore.
I don’t think the flower girl stopped dancing barefoot from the moment the music began.
I love it and am disgusted by it all at the same time.

And they’re off!

Mom got this uber cool shot!
Thanks Mom for rockin’ with me during this funtabulous wedding!

Carissa + Luke, I adore you and truly hope to stay in touch with you.
I will keep you in my thoughts as you make this next transition and can’t wait for you to forever “stare at each other” on the same continent, in the same country, same city, same house, on the same couch.
Big hugs to you both!!!
Wow these are really great pics. It almost makes me feel like I was there. Best of luck you guys!

wow amazing again!!!!!!
just awesome!!!!!
Love the one with them kissing and the bubbles all around….magical and fun!
Dance Party USA
Well, maybe not USA, but more like my home office in McKinney, TX.
Thank you to Benjamin for bringing The Sugarhill Gang’s Apache back into my life. I’ve enjoyed every moment of our reunion, and apparently so has Mills. Jump on it!

Apparently, these are her rocker faces. If only I knew how to upload the video Bobby took…Ay Dios Mio!

Also, check out this vid from Fresh Prince. Oh, this makes me giddy. Eeee!
Oh my that made me giggle. Made my day!
OMG, that face is priceless! I love it!
Sterling Maye is 6 Months Old!
Miss Sterling Maye is just getting cuter and cuter if that is even possible. She is now half a year old, and time is just flying by. It was great to see Tomi and Randy, and to help Chandler celebrate his birthday, and of course, to photograph Sterling’s favorite past-time…a bubble bath! Bubblicious, baby!
I love a good smush face.

Chandler got to wear the birthday sombrero…it was HIS day.

Awwwwww…I love this!

Favorite!

Those eyes slay me!

Sooooo stinkin’ cute…or would that be the wrong phrase since she is in the bath?

There is nothin’ sweeter than a clean baby!

Thanks for a fun session, guys, and I’ll see you soon!
once again……these are amazing!!!!!!
great work!!!!!
they make me HAPPY!
Carissa + Luke :: Engaged!
The diplomat and the rocket scientist.
Literally, I have never known individuals with such genius-status careers. It was intimidating to meet up with them 2 days before their wedding day, never having met due to Carissa living in DC and Luke in California. I was sure I would come across like an absolute idiot in comparison, but no. They were completely cool and fun and spontaneous and fascinating without even a stitch of a better-than-you attitude. In fact, they were gracious, warm, and instant friends. Love them!

Carissa’s boots were too fabu!

Hello, hotness!

So darling! I love this one times a thousand!

Favorite!

Can’t wait to show you their wedding…I’m in the process of editing it, so hang in there!
Kate, these are FABULOUS!!! Probably my favorite engagement session ever, and I have been a blog stalker for 3 years!!!

Kyla :: Baby Sesh
Want to see a divine baby? The ever so precious Kyla, who is a buddy of Princess Sadie, met my camera last week and they decided to be BFFs. Check out the evidence of her gorgeousness below!

Favorite!

That little dress is so sweet on Miss Kyla.

Another favorite! Monica and Mark have the coolest house with the most incredible furnishings.
I guess that’s what happens when an interior designer marries an architect.

The siblings love each other so!

Thanks for a fun time, and I hope to see you again soon…Muah to you all and Jake the dog!
once again AMAZING!!!!!!!
LOVE the last picture!!!!
and the dog kisses are so cute!!!!
I knew Kyla’s pictures would turn out gorgeous, but WOW! What a beautiful family in a fabulous setting.
The one with the dog kisses are the BEST!
Holly + Nathan :: Hitched
Oh, the day Holly and Nathan got married…No one who was present will EVER forget it. It was a memory beyond memories, and more memorable than any other wedding I have ever attended. Since it’s my job to attend weddings, I kinda think that statement counts for sumpthin’.
Let’s just get back to the basics and start with Holly’s fascination with storms. It began long ago, and this fascination led to great knowledge of radar maps and CB radios/dispatch thingamajobbers and the like. So, let’s just say that if God were to choose anyone’s wedding for the heavens to lay the smack down on, it would be Holly’s. And lay the smack down, the heavens did. And they did again. And again. Trust me. I have proof.
Sure the storm is probably seared into all the guests’ minds for eternity, but what truly stood out to me is the genuine affection for Holly and Nathan that each person attending showed. I mean, if you don’t absolutely freaking ADORE someone, you probably aren’t going to walk through mud to witness their wedding. The sheer number of people who did just that (and GLADLY) made this day extraordinarily special, as did Holly and Nathan’s easy going attitudes, love for each other, and general joie de vivre. I have to say it (sorry to all of my other brides and grooms who I really do love and think the world of)…THIS was the BEST wedding I have EVER attended. EVER. It will take a lot to beat this one.
A few things that also made this a spectacular evening were some of the vendors that I got to work with. Emily Youngblood of Blessed Unions was the PICTURE OF GRACE throughout the entire day. I can’t imagine anyone else who would have handled such an event (and said smackdown) with such a clear head and confidence. She was a calming force amongst chaos, and I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for help with their event. Also, if you want the most rockin’ floral decor, you have got to go to A Stylish Soiree. Becca and Kerrie are seriously the best in DFW. They are brilliant trendsetters in their industry, and continue to wow me again and again.
Now, onto the images!
This is Holly and Nathan. I’m sure they will come back in another life as these crazy birds watchin’ the weather.

Notice the white chairs that were meant for the ceremony…we moved it to the tent after the 2nd round of rain.

Of course, Holly HAS to check the radar—wearing her bridal hair accessory.

The details were flawlessly brought to life via Holly’s vision and a little help from Blessed Unions and A Stylish Soiree.

Nathan adorably fastens his bow tie.

Holly’s mom, Nancy (who we call “Fancy”) lends Holly a hand.

All of Holly’s best friends brought her blue ribbons to pin to her dress lining for her “something blue”.

Nathan plays before the ceremony. He’s such a big kid!

Holly’s dad, Claude, Holly, and cousin Robin approach the tent for the ceremony.

A Stylish Soiree made Millie (the cutest flower girl EVAH!) this little purse with petals! LOVE IT!

Just as the officiant held the rings up, the thunder clapped! How appropriate!

Ready to be introduced…they are just darling under the umbrella!

Mariachis led the parade back into the tent!

Seriously…I can’t get over how amazing the details were at this wedding.

The cakes, by Fancy Cakes by Lauren, were to die for.

Martin, one of the bubble blowers for the ceremony, just loved his role in the event.

Holly’s grandfather was a mover and a shaker!

Of course, Millie was the leader of the pack on the dancefloor!

My favorite rain boot crew! My homegirls!

What an evening. This picture says it all.

Umm, this is an incredible wedding! You all must submit this fast—what wonderful details–Emily ROCKS! (so does Stylish Soiree). What a GREAT wedding!
What a fantastic and unique wedding! Lovely to see the bride embrace her wedding day and the events happening during it so fully. I’m loving that cake shot with the strawberries. Looks delicious!

oh my gosh!!!!!!
AWESOME is all i can say….wow just amazing…….again!!!!!!
As one of my bridal parties said the other day “it was “good luckin’” all over the place!”. Way to make some very special & personal memories on a day that could have otherwise stressed out people! :o)
These are so precious! I love all the details and the moments you captured - awesome!
What a beautiful wedding! You really captured the joy and fun of Holly and Nathan’s celebration. Nice work!
KATE!!!! For such a muddy, dreary day, you TRULY captured the incredible detail of this gogeous wedding and Holly’s awesome style. At the same time, you showed how stinkin’ cute, in love, and laid back Holly and Nathan were! It was an HONOR being part of their day, Thank you for showing how fabulous it was!!!

Deirdre + Eric :: Hitched!
Deirdre + Eric have been patiently waiting for this post. And, of course, they would. They are patient. They are kind. They do not envy or boast or act proud. They are not rude, self-seeking, or easily angered, and keep no records of wrongs. Deirdre + Eric do not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth. Deirdre + Eric always protect, always trust, always hope, and always preserve. Deirdre + Eric ARE love.
These are some of the sweetest clients I have EVER worked with, and I feel truly blessed to have been chosen to photograph their wedding day in St. Augustine, Florida…one of my favorite towns on the planet. The love they have for one another can be felt for miles around them, and THAT is something we should all celebrate, my friends! Let’s start by checking out these images, and then we’ll break open the Guinness/Killian’s/Kilkenny/Smithwick’s/etc.
Deirdre’s mom, Maeve, and her sister, Mandy, try to figure it out.

Deirdre loves her bouquet! Who wouldn’t? It’s definitely one of my very favorites!

Speaking of favorites, I love this image. That flying ribbon is so fun! Work it, Maeve!

Poor chica!

Gorgeous!

Speedos were abundant on the beach and, well, not so abundant where they should be.
Know what I mean?

I want a canvas of this.

Wendy Kidd of Each & Every Detail put together perfect details for the day.

Eric was the picture of a beach groom, complete with a laid-back personality and a big smile.

Deirdre’s Uncle Robert walked her down the “aisle”.

When she got there, her Uncle Michael, complete with a real Irish accent, was ready to perform the ceremony.

Married!

Up to the reception, they go!

Their cake was STUNNING. So so so so spot-on for a beach wedding.

Haaaa! Love it!

This has to be a favorite from the day.
Deirdre’s niece, Erin, demonstrates her affection for confection.

Bridesmaid, Sandra let’s us all know what she’s thinking and I love her for that.

Erin got a little carried away with the whole “barefoot on the beach” thing.

Hello, lovah. You know how I feel about reflections! These are scrumptious.

Buckle up…it’s gonna be a wild ride in that Carroll Shelby Cobra!

After the party ended, the newlyweds let Mom & me take them to Magnolia Avenue, one of the nation’s most famous streets.
Not only does the Fountain of Youth exist here, but the live oaks are beyond glorious.
The houses along this street are so cute, we just had to stop and wander.

The fence in front of the Fountain of Youth is made of “taby”, a mixture of sharp oyster shells and some other goop.
Makes for a gorgeous backdrop, no?

Can’t wait to hear all about the honeymoon, D + E! Big hugs!
This capture is a wonderful movie of much love and supreme happiness….Life Is Beautiful!!!
Love it as always Kate & Susie! You ladies rock! I can’t WAIT to see all the photos.
Breathtaking…now I need the beach…in need an umbrella in my drink and NOT for this TX monsoon!! Aye dios mio!!!!!
Caroline + Andrew :: Hitched!
This darling couple cannot get any cuter. They just can’t, or the world might implode. Or explode. Or whatever the correct term is. I love them dearly, mostly for being sweethearts. The other reason I love them to pieces is that they are SO.DAMN.EXPRESSIVE. Everyone who knows them is well aware of their energy, wit, and positivity that could melt the likes of Simon Cowell. Seriously. If you haven’t had the wonderful opportunity to meet these two (although the entire state of Texas appears to have made their acquaintance at one time or another), take a look below at the best day of their lives. And I’m not just being positive like them. It was definitely top brass, baby.
Can I have your attention? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

The Marquis men…lookin’ fine, boys!

Andrew, you are so dapper!

I adored all of Caroline’s (from now on, we will refer to her by her nickname, “Lina”) sentimental details.
So many people pitched in to make sure she had her old, new, borrowed, and blue.

I am so in love with this shot. Lina is the cutest!

Lina’s got her own little paparazzi…or shall I say hot mamarazzi?!

Oh, Anderson. How I love thee.

Oh, boy. Here we go!

Lina’s daddy loves his little girl.

We actually had a wedding crasher.
This lady just wandered in and stayed for about a minute.
The only thing she said to me was, “Pretty.”
About that, I say, “Pretty interesting!”

After the ceremony, Anderson just hangs out.

Sweetness on Sixth Street!

Gotta give props to Sarah Miller of Caplan Miller Events for the gorgeous details!

A mariachi band led Lina and Andrew into the reception.

Then, we were blessed to hear the song, “Sweet Caroline”!

Seriously. Stop being so frickin’ cute.

Love the face!

This one, too!

Andrew, don’t eat the petals!

Trying to have a classy exit, THIS limo just HAS to pull up behind them.
Gross…to the max(i). However, these two still shine brighter!!!

what a fun couple! you have to enter the nose picking one into some kind of contest. You will WIN EVERYTHING! That might be one of my all time fave shots of yours ever! too funny!
Kate- you really captured the spirit of this memorable day. I am a sucker for weddings in general, but I can get rhapsodic when they are this wonderful. How can you go wrong when the “principals” are such lovable, genuine souls. It’s always a thrill when such nice people find each other. It has been so fun watching Caroline and Andrew’s relationship bloom. I’ve been so eager to see your photos of the event- and they didn’t disappoint. Thanks.
kate!!!! you have done it once again…thank you so much for capturing our wedding in such an amazing way. i fall in love with the pics more and more each time i look. you are FAB! muah to you…xoxo, lina ![]()
Kate, These are adorable…and they capture so much of what made the evening so magical and memorble. We can’t wait to see them all…Sue and you did a great job!! Thanks for all of your hard work! Makes we want to do it all over again…sort of! Cary

Thanks for such a fun time.
Ethan :: Spring 2009
I can’t believe I am about to do this. I am literally going to post 26 images from, NO, not a wedding…a baby session. Well, he’s not quite a baby, but not yet a kid, but still. Whatever. 26 images is a freakin’ LOT. I’m just in love with this work, and think it is very representative of my style with babies and kids. I suppose it has something to do with his mommy. She and I lived together at TCU for a bit. We ruled. Kate and Kelly are IN, let the fun BEGIN, and all that. So, naturally, I love little Ethan like he is part of the fam. Plus, he is Millie’s future husband. Let’s hope she has a thing for younger guys.
Anywho, Kel came down from Connecticut for Holly’s wedding, and she wanted me to photograph the E-man. We had a blast chasing him all over and watching him explore the surroundings. He is a sweet, darling child with a bright spirit (read: energetic as hell) and killer eyes. I think Kelly and Marshall are in for it. DUNZO. Cooked. Good luck, guys!

Superman!

Kelly’s gorgeous sister, Lauren, came along for some fun!

The E-man loves his Aunt Lauren.

Hot potato!

Oh really? Starting early, huh?

Mommy is from here, E.

Hilarious. His expressions do me in.

Boo!

Are you kidding me with that cuteness???

Mommy snuggles! The best!

Hope to see you two for your August visit. Miss you already! Double muah!
Oh my, he does have beautiful eyes! Wonderful pics ..i love #9 and #14.
LOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEE! and you know how i feel about the stockyards- always gives a great image! super fantastic!
