Will + Libby
Meet the adorable cousins of Miss Conley (to be featured later today). These kids were sooo stinkin’ cute and easy to work with…love them!
What a pretty little girl!!!

I think the 2 Ls in Will stand for “Long Lashes”.

Ahhh…nuthin’ like a little sibling man-handling to start the day.

Stay tuned for their baby cousin, Conley!
George is 11!
Gorgeous George is no stranger to this blog. He has only been highlighted once or twice or 47 times. Aren’t you glad? I know I am!
George is a guy who has many layers. He is so very polite and adult-like in his mannerisms upon meeting that it is almost unsettling. However, then he flashes a grin that says, “I know that you know that not even I know what I am going to do next and that scares you and delights you all at the same time,” and I know he is still a boy who just wants to have fun and get his hands a little dirty.
Just look at these and you’ll see what I’m talking about!

that shoe shot is the bomb!!!
George is the man!!! So cool, so much fun, and what a star!!! Hook’em George….You’re the one!!!
Drew is a Newborn!
He’s a Drewborn…a very cute and cuddly one at that! His big brother Matthew is a sweet pea of a 3 year old who loves the camera. Take a peek at a few of my faves from our session last week!
Definitely one of my favorite photographs I’ve ever taken…such a kid moment!
Where is the marker going to land???

This Drewborn can sleep ANYWHERE.

Matthew is the epitome of a 3 year old. He is so playful and engaged in everything all at once!

And definitely the image that makes me giggle with glee is this last one. Oh so cute!

Absolutely the best! I love them! You really captured our session together! Thanks so much Kate for taking such great pictures of my boys! I’m really happy to have some pictures of this wonderful time of my life!
Boy you did capture them! These look wonderful, and mucho congratos to the proud parents!
GREAT Pictures! I love them all. The two boys make me smile from ear to ear.
This is the cutest newborn shoot I’ve seen in a long time. Love the unique angles and composition. Great work! And what a couple of cute boys!
Great pictures Kate!! Drew looks so cute and I love the action shots of Matthew!!!
These are wondervul pictures! In their uniqueness, they portray the personalities of the boys so well that I feel a connection with them and even feel like I have a insight into their precious personalities! Great photographer, but also GREAT MODELS!
These pictures are priceless. Very natural and candid….unique!! I love, love, love them!! I know Jackie and Tim will treasure these for years to come!! You have captured a very special time in this young family’s life!! Awesome!!

The action taken to national disaster is awesome but it’s a real shame that so many citizens take advantage of the negative situations.
I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there’s always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.
This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys “angels” got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

Hello Everybody
Discussion about the earths temperature increase - or global warming are most often disregarded as too scientific - but, an earthquake shaking an entire country into disaster should not be another disregarded statistic. We’re talking about people, just like you and me.
Please offer financial or volunteer assistance to Haiti and Chile

Earlier today I got a phone call from 9722840600 / (972) 2840600 and was convinced the call was a scammer.
Guess it was a bad case of the “Mondays” - cause I went nuts - and called the company (Gulf Coast Western) and yell.
Make a long story short Gulf Coast Western -an Oil drilling corporation- called me back We’re contacting me about employment. Apparently I got the job
How can I fix this????
OMFG!!
A Couple of days ago I got a phone message from 9722840600 / (972) 2840600 and was convinced the caller was a scam.
So I complained and contacted the the company and bitch.
Anyway… Gulf Coast Western — the oil drilling company- was calling who I interviewed with last month - we’re calling to tell me I got the job!
How do I fix this??

Coronation Coordination
Say THAT five times fast. This was THE SINGLE MOST CHOREOGRAPHED and COORDINATED event I have EVER photographed (thanks to countless hours put in by Betsy Newman, Lois Kohlkorst, Lela Kelley, and their troops).
Shooting it was a bit like taking an 8 hour wedding allotment and cramming it into a 2 1/2 hour period. The pace? Imagine photographing a basketball game…WHILE ON THE COURT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME! (Dodge the ball, don’t trip the ref, watch out for that player!) Needless to say, I was so sore the next morning from sprinting and squatting and my hair was crunchy and my skin was parched…but oh, was it worth it! What a gig!
Presenting Queen Lois Kate and King George!

One of my favorite teens…Bess!

Corrie leads her pack.

If only Millie could have been there to see the Hannah Montana act that Lois Kate and her friends did. To. Die. For.

These little fairy princesses wished they were just a bit older to play Hannah Montana with the big girls.

Bess & Corrie are super brave to climb to the top of the “shoe”. Yikes.

Here are Queen Lois Kate and King George and their fabulous siblings watching the end-of-the-show fireworks. Love it! Such innocence wrapped up in a little package, huh?

Kate….That just took my breath away….Dag-Gum-It, girl….you are sooooo good! You just captured “Coronation Coordination”….Go Betsy, Go Lois, Go Lela, GO KATE!!!!! Love you….Mom
Kate …I love what I’m seeing! Wow! You have really captured the essence of what Betsy and I set as our goal: make it all about the kids and let them have fun. We had a great team of volunteers we had that made the 118th Maifest, The Toy Store, come to life. And your pics say it all! I can’t wait to see them, each and everyone of them. I love your comments about your mom. She, Doc and Nan (& Ricky, too) have been very special to our family through the years. Doc, and especially Nancy, would love your artistic work with the camera. Keep up the GREAT work. Many thanks to you and your mom for making time for us in Big “B” Lots of love…Lois

Great job, Kate. If you can do this, you can do ANY thing.
The pictures are as great as the Maifest was…sometimes pictures don’t live up to the reality…but these certainly do. You took the pictures I’d hoped to see…up-down-all around…thank you, Kate! Love you…Jane B.
Don’t Rain on My Parade
Now, normally, I am not a parade person. My lovely mother was a parade pusher when I was a child and it turned me off of them, much like her fruit pushing turned me off of fruit and her restrictive ways regarding television turned me into a TV junkie. If you think I am dissin’ Mom, please read the next post.
Anywho, sitting and watching is not really my bag. I am far too hyper for that. HOWEVER…SHOOTING A PARADE IS WAAAAAAAY DIFFERENT. I was in love with capturing the feeling of it all! The participants and spectators, to me, were all entertaining in their own right. The bands were playing some funky beats that had my booty shakin’ and the kids and costumes were too cute to boot. If I could photograph nothing but parades, I doubt I would ever get bored. They rock!
Sit back, and enjoy a parade on your computer. The Brenham Maifest’s Junior Parade is about to begin!
Our King, George Newman, gets “fixed up” by his beautiful toy soldier sister, Corrie.

In the heart of Blue Bell country is where Maifest lies.

Darling little Beckett and Fletcher are Millie’s Brenham buddies.

Everybody’s gotta check each other out. The costumes are just to die for!

I love love love these women! Don’t know ‘em, but I love ‘em!

Shake your tail feather!

Favorite!

Another Favorite!

And the last float of the day is the royalty. Put your hands together for Queen Lois Kate and King George!

Kate…..you soooo captured life on Maifest Friday in Brenham, Texas. The rhythms of life were all stepping out on this day! Love it! You, too! Mom
Hey! I recognize some of those folks! Great capture of the flavor of Maifest. Makes me feel like I was there. . .
okay…I am so curious about the twister skirts. Can I see more of that “get-up” (as my grandfather would call it)? The rest of the shots are really fab too. as usual. ![]()
Kate — the picture of the “old women” could win a trophy! You really captured them. I could write a story on them and just their thoughts that moment!! Great work!
love ya’,
Ga-Ga
Kate, my favorite is the lady and her doggie. Was he growling? He’s too cute. : )
Fabulous job, Kate!! Now Beckett and Fletcher think they’re famous like Millie.
Absolutely terrific! You captured the essence of Maifest and all the fun! Kate, you have a wonderful talent!…….and yes, your momma done you good! Susie has always been a phantastic photographer!
Since we were in Colo. Springs playing for a wedding and did not get to attend Maifest this year we especially appreciate seeing pictures that bring it home for us. THANK YOU so much for these.
Love you……….Martha
Tiny Royal Details
I can’t say too much about these images, as these costumes are under lock and key until the beginning of May. However, feast your eyes on these sparkly treats, for now! I will be sure to update you as I can on this fun little project.

hmmmmmm…… I am so very curious. Are you being crowned “The Queen of Fabulousness”?
Looks like Maifest to me!
Gorgeous George
Oh, how I love his freckles. And his manners. And is affinity for reading and all things sports, making a little statement of juxtaposition for himself. Following in the footsteps of his brother and sister, George is one cool cat. A bit more reserved than Bess, and a touch more mysterious than Tom, George is still very “Newman” in his own right. He’s still a bit young for me to make grand predictions, but I can say I know he will be a fantastic young man, given his parents’ track record! (Plus, I have an inkling that Millie might have a crush on him in a few years, especially since that is what my mom is campaigning for!)
An easy favorite!

Love these in the fallen leaves!

Thanks, George, for a fun afternoon. You are such a good sport and a fun friend to have!
What an All American Boy!
I am pretty picky who Mills hangs around but if he’s a Sox fan, I guess so!
These are precious!
