Caplan Miller Events Opens Up New Digs

Posted on October 1st, 2008 by Kate. Filed in Vendor Spotlight

Those girls from Caplan Miller have done it again. But this time, the party was honoring THEM and THEIR RAD NEW OFFICE! I could not be prouder of Sarah and Courtney. I adore them and am so excited for all of the things that will follow this big, bold move.

Last Thursday, they flew me into Austin to par-tay with them, and of course, I couldn’t resist snapping a few frames.
Here are a few of my favorites.

Custom cookies for the guests were gorgeous as favors.

The lounge atmosphere they created in their front parking lot was too hip to be square. Freakin’ loved it.

Kir royales never hurt nobody!

These chicas design a mean gift basket…the perfect add-on to any chic event.

Such fabulous food and people made this a see-and-be-seen-eating shindig.

Now THIS was something I could have sipped on all night…Lavender-infused vodka lemonade. YUMMERS!

The party was hoppin’!

Topping the night off, sparkly treats for everyone!

I was chowing down at Spoons yesterday and thought I saw you walk in and towards the back and I turned my head really quickly…. it wasn’t you but a hip looking young chica. It looked like I (mom from McKinney) was checking her out. ha
thanks for all your pics and eye candy

Super Tyrone + Sarah Miller = Lurve

Posted on February 18th, 2008 by Kate. Filed in Vendor Spotlight

I bet your wedding planner doesn’t do this. Sarah Miller from Caplan Miller Events had a wedding this weekend in Austin which featured Super Tyrone and I am so jealous that I wasn’t able to photograph it.

Let me break it down for you, folks. If you hire Super Tyrone to play at your wedding, I will give you 8 hours of wedding coverage at 50%. SERIOUSLY. That is how badly I want to work with him!

Click below to see Super Tyrone do his thang and to watch Sarah work that body—work that body!

This Week…

Stay tuned for Allison + Kinnon’s wedding, brought to you by JP (mom & me) and Sarah of Caplan Miller Events. Just got back from Austin last night, and we had a ton of fun shooting the wedding and just being back in A-town, period.

Here’s the dream team, looking just as tough as we worked, at the end of the night. Well, not really. Notice that Sarah and Mom still have their cheeks and lips on and I am the one looking like a middle schooler who just woke up. Very nice!

So, that’s you without makeup? Let me suggest that you empty your cosmetics drawer and start saving the gazillions you would otherwise spend by the time you are 60. You look lovely.

Kate, LOVE the shirt!

Kate Jan 16th, 2008 at 5:28 pm

Mary Ann—you are a saint! Thanks for making me feel not so hideous!

Wendy Kidd Jan 16th, 2008 at 7:20 pm

Kate - I don’t think you could look hideous if you tried! And Susie always makes me feel frumpy by the end of the night. I have no idea how she always manages to look good and have high energy the entire night! Even after stomping out a fire. ;)

Sarah Miller, Event Planner

Posted on November 9th, 2007 by Kate. Filed in Vendor Spotlight

Sarah Miller is not only one of the coolest chicks I know, but she is one of the BEST at what she does. How do I know this? Considering I have known her since we were ittie-bitties, I have the history to back up that statement. Raised by a sweet Southern Belle of a mother who lived by the Bible as well as Emily Post’s protocol, a no-nonsense businessman/county sheriff of a father, and a grandmother who could kick Martha Stewart’s ass in a homemade bread baking contest, Sarah is a woman of too many talents to count. And, if that doesn’t make you sick, she is drop dead gorgeous. STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL WITH FLAWLESS SKIN. Yuck, right?!

After building a successful career in catering and event planning in the hospitality industry, Sarah, alongside her longtime coworker Courtney, has ventured out onto her own. They make a stellar coordinating team, and will knock the freaking socks off of you, should you have the privilege of attending one of their events. Click HERE to see visit their AMAZING website.

Without further ado, here is my very best friend in the entire world. We took these this past July out in Brenham at my family’s ranch, and I wanted to wait till they had their website up so I could do a linky-poo. I am not too proud to pimp her out on my blog…she’s my soul sista!

This is SO Sarah. Glam, statuesque, and silly all in the same moment. LOVE IT!

Sarah never holds back a laugh…hers are the very contagious kind.

This last shot made me cry when I first saw it. I immediately felt that Sarah was looking to the heavens to smile at her parents. Though they are not physically here to give her hugs and high-fives, I think she knows that they have to be cheering for her in their own angel ways. Who wouldn’t be proud of her? She’s AMAZING!

I don’t know how to link this, but here is their sweet website’s look:

Go check out their site and give Sarah a shout. Tell her I sent ya, and that I send hugs.
