Elaine + Adam :: Hitched
This wedding took me (and Bobby, as my lovely assistant) to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Adam’s aunt, Eileen, hosted the wedding reception and all of the rest of their fabulous family members chipped in to pull off this feat. The weather was gorgeous, everyone looked stunning (Elaine and Adam were very Kennedy-esque!), and it was so nice to see these two lovebirds finally make it official!!!
Adam’s great great grandfather wrote a letter to Adam’s grandfather bequeathing him the diamond that is now in Elaine’s engagement ring.
Reading the letter, I completely got goosebumps and wished my family history was a little less choppy and had more tradition like this…
Oh well…maybe I can come up with a genius heirloom plan in my sleep. It’s got to start somewhere, right?

Adam’s artistic cousin, Billy, completed Elaine’s updo with a veil.

Adam fidgets. Adam fidgets more.

Doublestick tape, anyone! Elaine had that dress on lockdown. =)

Let the show begin!

What? She’s mine now? YESSSSSSSSSSS.

Elaine’s son Collin was cracking me up all day long with his facial expressions!

It’s a done deal!

Love these girls. They were all so supportive of Elaine and were super fun to hang with.

The “mens” were great, too…
Handsome and funny gentlemen. Can’t ask for much more.

Oh, just adorable. White picket fence and all.

To the beach!

This is a nice friend to Elaine’s Unbridaled trolley photograph.

At the reception, mission #1 was to save.that.cake!!!

Ryan gets TOSSED like a salad.

Collin was jonesin’ for some pool action, too.

Break it down, Jamey!

Hilarious. Elaine’s dad is not a fan of the mohawk, I am guessing.

Adam’s other aunt, Rosemary, caused me to laugh only about 476 times that day.

Have you ever seen a guy want a garter MORE?
This was a first for my camera!

And a sparkler exit topped off the day…what a beautiful day it was!

Congrats, Elaine + Adam, and big ol’ hugs to you and your crazy family members!!!
You rocked it, chica!!! Tell all your friends to try the fried brie balls at Argyles…
WOW!! What a beautiful family of three!!! The outer banks was such a pretty setting too. Couldnt have asked for a better day huh? I love your style Elaine, This photography is exceptional too! Congrats and we love you!!!!!!!
What an adorable wedding. You did a fabulous job. love, Amy
Heather + Chad :: Hitched
After a short break from weddings (July was supposed to be my “vacation”, but it never works out as I plan for it to!), I am back and raring to go with a new one to show ya. Heather and Chad are the sweetest couple and I just absolutely adore their families and hilarious friends. It was a wonderful day…every single moment, and I hope these images transport Heather + Chad plus all of their guests right back to it.
First, Heather and the girls started the party off right at Haute Facade with my buddy, Kelly.
She’s only the BEST makeup artist/hair stylist in the DFW area!

Because I was there, I know that there was no pain really involved, but the flower girl’s aptitude for drama was nonetheless hilarious.

She loves it!

Loved Heather’s dress…the lace was gorgeous!

One flaw on the dress…there was no eye to put the hook into and Heather cute mom had to sew her in!

Love this shot. Nancy (the fabulous mom of the bride) had the most comfy slippers!

The dudes headed to the City Club to get ready for the festivities.

The two dads simultaneously check themselves.

Chad looked so dapper, but was still his adorably boyish, charming self.

Um, can you say STUNNING???

Heather was just beyond beautiful…she was radiant!

Reading Chad’s letter to her, Heather’s tears started rolling.

Are they cute or what?

Cheers!

Love it!

On to the reception!

Nicole, Heather’s super sweet BFF gave her toast and got choked up.
Chad, being the gentleman he is, gave her a handkerchief!

Conga!

Ride, Sally, Ride!
Trey, of Trey and the Tritones brought Heather and her girls on stage to belt it out!

And they’re off!

What a true blast it was working with you, Heather and Chad! Your families are the sweetest and your friends know how to shake it and I can’t wait to keep up with you guys as you grow together over the next few years. Big hugs to you both!
Beautiful pics, girl!
This was a fairy tale wedding and I’m so glad to have witnessed it. Everything was perfect…especially the bride. Chad was the perfect match for her. Good job! But that’s easy with the subjects. I wish you both the best life has to offer together.
Best wishes to a beautiful couple.
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful couple and wedding! Fantastic Photos! Quick shooting too - some serious skillz Kate!
My only granddaughter and oh my what a beautiful bride she was! Chad was the perfect gentleman and was ‘beautiful’ also. I am so proud of both of them and wish them all the happiness possible.
Kate, you have soooo outdone yourself! I’m grateful to our other Nancy for referring us to you. You’ve given us such a gift in your work. Can’t wait to see more! Thanks for being a special part of Heather & Chad’s wedding of their dreams.
You are just as beautiful now as the day you were born,You are
a very special Granddaughter. We love you.May you both always be happy.
It was a beautiful wedding.
ok kate, seriously. can i just follow you around to the weddings and carry your water or something?!?! first of all, obviously your pics are un believable and fab, and all the fancy nancy words that i can’ think of right now, but ALSO, your brides are crazy cool!!! i just want some of you and them to rub off on me-just a little is all i’m askin! (envision puppy dog eyes and bottom lip stuck out). am i too old for that? oh, well…pretty please!!! ![]()
gorgeous!!
My Clients Are The Bestest.
My clients make me laugh. They inspire me with their love and warmth. They become a part of my circle of friends, and sometimes…they send me GIFTS!!!
Look what Candice and Chris had delivered to my doorstep! As Millie would say, “Yea, me!”
Thanks so much, C+C! It was a joy to capture your love. What a treat it will be to watch you crazy kids settle into married life and eventually have mini-C+Cs runnin’ around!

Gotta love that!
Jackie + Justin :: Hitched
While I’m on vacation, I thought I’d load you up on some Jackie + Justin. Enjoy!
A little 27 Dresses for your pleasure.

Guys have NO idea of what we girls do to get ready. NO idea.

Thanks to Mom for these next 2!

How stunning is that bouquet?!

That light is so yummy!

Hey, hey party people!

Such lookers!

Favorite!

Their reception details were gorgeous. Jackie had such vision!

I was in lurve with the starfish!

Justin’s parents are full of life!

Seriously. These cakes were IM.PRESS.IVE. Wow!!!

Best man down! Best man down!

Favorite!

Work it out, girl.

Courter, one of the groomsmen, was all over that reception!

And, off they go to Cabo!

Much love to you and your families and friends, J + J!
so pretty!
Jackie + Justin :: The Slideshow
OK, I know it is a little backwards to post the show before the still images (at least I usually do it the opposite way), but because I now hafta do things on my laptop (I got VERY spoiled by my iMac) and I don’t want to make Justin and Jackie wait any longer, THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!
After a very hectic spring and early summer wedding season, I was almost to the point of no return. Leave it to this sweet couple, their ah-mazing family, their “as-rowdy-as-the-day-is-long” friends, and a little sprinkle of magic I like to call new shoes, to reignite my passion for my job.
Please take the time to watch this slideshow. I know your life is busy and you’ve got this to do and that to get done, but STOP. Grab a drink and sit. Click on the image below. It will take a moment to load, so give it a chance. Also, turn up the volume on your computer!
Be sure to leave a “holla back” for Jackie and Justin. Give ‘em some lurve!

These totally ROCK! Those Longhorns sure know how to party!
Congrats!
love the layering on 201! that’s my girl kate rocking the ‘ish out of this wedding!
So cute so cute so cute!!
Weddings in 2010
In line with keeping JP a truly boutique business (meaning you get more attention and lurve than you would workin’ with “the man” a.k.a. big studios), I have decided to put a cap on how many weddings I take in 2010. No conveyor belts, here! Less clients = more creativity, plus more time with my sweet Millie and wonderful Bobby. Seems like the perfect life to me!
The bookings are currently underway for 2010 (3 contracts already in and 2 coming in shortly…that means 5 more spots!), and there have been a lot of inquiries.
Please note that my policy (which is used by most wedding vendors) is “first come, first serve”. Whether or not I know you personally, we’ve had a meeting, or I have worked with your wedding planner before, I am committed to being fair to everyone. I get so super excited to work with my clients and want to work with those who are also stoked about working with me, so will the most stoked please stand up?!
To get on JP’s calendar, ya just need to have these 3 things:
—a designated wedding date (not even a venue is necessary)
—a signed contract (see attached!) filled out with which package you have chosen
—a deposit check (50% of the package price you have chosen)
Mail the last 2 to:
Kate Mefford—Juxtapose Photography
4912 Berkley Drive
McKinney, TX 75070
Need to chat by phone? I will be available today after 3pm Central time at 214.684.2136.

Good for you girl!
Candice + Chris :: Hitched
Candice and Chris got hitched at the end of May. Everything fell into place, and it was great to see these two crazy kids FINALLY (after 47 years…ok…maybe not that long) make it official. Candice was incredibly gorgeous, as usual, and Chris was dapper yet absolutely hilarious. I had so much fun working with them as well as their super rad wedding party!!!
Chiggity check it!
Busted!

Candice’s supermodel of a sister, Brooke, helps her get THE DRESS on.
To put it lightly, THE DRESS weighed more than Candice and Brooke combined!

Millie loves this image, though I think not so much for the composition and more for the lip gloss being applied.

What a beauty!

Candice chose the most exquisite flowers for her day, including two of my favorites: ranunculus and peonies.

Hello, Mr. Bullock!

Can you say debonaire?

Right before the ceremony, it hits Candice like a ton of bricks.
Thank goodness she had her homegirls there to blow her tears away!

I got a ring! What what!

Candice shows up to sign the marriage license for the church, but there’s no Chris.
Candice goes looking for Chris (who is always late for everything).
Now Candice is missing. We’re just waiting. Can you feel the awkwardness?

The wedding party was so cool that we just had to find a location to match.
We found the perfect locay in the Burton Cotton Gin.

I love how the girls are all posh and polite and the guys are, well, guys.

Don’t you adore the way they look at each other???
I know I do!

Amazing.

How cute are they?!

Off to the reception at La Bahia Turn Verein.
The details were GOR-GEOUS! (Imagine me singing that.)

First dance!

Play it, brother!

Sassy little bridesmaid!

Break it down, girl!

Candice’s mom was just the most fun to work with and hang out with…what a cool lady!

Their getaway car ruled.

Off to the honeymoon!

Big hugs to ya, C + C! Much love!
Wow!!! Love, love, love the pics…I have been keeping my eye out for this post. What an amazing wedding and looks like some amazing pictures as well. Love the group shot in front of the cotton gin and those crazy dance moves Candice and le Bridesmaids are grooving’. Looking forward to working with you soon!

[…] what Candice and Chris had delivered to my doorstep! As Millie would say, “Yea, […]
I so enjoyed these photos. I’m not sure where to begin with compliments…I just LOVED them!
I can’t help but want to feature a few on my blog’s Weekly Wedding Eye-Candy series (http://thebridalpartyllc.blogspot.com). I’ll post them on 8/5/09.
Best,

Sarah + Ben :: The Show
Because Sarah + Ben are so rad, I gotta show ‘em off again.
Click on the image below to view their slideshow.
Give it a minute to load and turn up your speakers, yo!

The pictures. . . the music . . . all so terrific! I’m having so much fun I can barely stand it!! I smile the whole way through . . . again and again. . . Thanks for sharing your special giftedness with ALL of us!
Sarah + Ben :: Hitched
Finally. This post is here. It made it. Why don’t we all give it a little handclap for arriving despite its lack of promptness. Sarah + Ben have OH-SO-PATIENTLY been waiting since they got back from Hawaii for this post. I’ve had the images done, but couldn’t FOR THE LIFE OF ME decide on which ones to put on the blog. They had more images in their Signature Collection than I have ever given to a client. Sifting and sorting through all of those images made it an agonizing process to choose favorites to show you guys.
The reason for so many favorites? Hmmm. Maybe it’s because Sarah + Ben are some of my favorite clients EVER. Maybe it has something to do with their families and friends being completely welcoming and incredibly spirited. Perhaps I was inspired by the love and the locations and the food and the ABSOLUTELY KILLER music Ben put together for the reception. (I mean, come on people. Anyone who uses a Mutemath song for their first dance is tops in my book.)
Who knows. Whatever the case, I love these kids to pieces, and I can’t wait to continue our friendship now that they are back and getting settled. Chiggity check it.
Oh, Katie’s hair. Precious Katie and her hair.
Here’s Meredith trying with all of her might to help Katie’s hair.

Ben’s cute little sister, Becca, sews a bridesmaid’s slipper.
The talent runs deep in that Easley family!

Sarah’s younger sister Lauren performs surgery on Sarah’s dress.

Gorgeousness.

The girls were not only adorable but were also so much fun!

Ohmigoodness, have you ever seen such beauty?

Whoa. Incredible. My socks just flew across the room.

How many men does it take to get a groom ready?

Um, hello studs! Lookin’ good!

Ben is so handsome…just like a classic movie star.

Sarah and her mom ride the elevator down to the chapel.
(Goin’ to the chapel…)

Everyone is ready for the main event.

And, he sees her.

It was a beautiful ceremony.

I love the sweetness and sincerity of this shot.

My peeps! The wedding party!

It’s official!

I mean, how freaking cute are they?

They had a sweet getaway car! Vrrrroom.

Welcome to the reception!

This grandmother was off the chain. I could have watched her all night.
I told her I want to be just like her when I grew up and I 100% mean it.
If you can do the sprinkler when you’re a senior, you’ve got game.

Holy dancefloor explosion. This group had ALL the moves.

And, we’re off!

Bye bye!

Thanks for trusting me with documenting your big day.
What an amazing experience it was!
Big hugs and lots of love to you both…send some to your fam and friends, too!
Sooo sweet! And she is one of the prettiest brides I’ve ever seen!
Lucky guy! ![]()
